The 28th Boe Forum on Public Affairs will feature an evening with Jon Meacham, presidential historian and Pulitzer Prize-winning author. The talk, entitled “What Has America Learned?” will be held at 7:30 p.m., on Wednesday, March 19, in the Elmen Center on Augustana’s campus.
Meacham, a former managing editor at Newsweek, is a highly sought-after commentator, regularly appearing on national news outlets, such as MSNBC and CNN. He is also a frequent guest on “Morning Joe,” “Real Time With Bill Maher,” “The 11th Hour” and was featured in Ken Burns’ documentary series, “The Roosevelts: An Intimate History.” In addition, Meacham has released two podcasts with the History Channel: “Hope Through History” and “It Was Said.”

Jean-Efflam Bavouzet will present a guest piano recital as part of the 2025 J. Earl Lee Piano Festival. A reception will follow the recital in the Halverson Atrium in the Humanities Building.

The Augustana Choir, under the direction of Dr. Russell Svenningsen, will present a free concert at Central Lutheran Church on Sunday, March 9th at 4pm.
Augustana alumni are encouraged to participate in the Alumni Choir. There will be a brief rehearsal at 3 p.m. at Central Lutheran Church. Please contact Dr. Svenningsen for more details.
After the concert at Central Lutheran Church, concert attendees and Augustana alumni in the Twin Cities area are invited to attend Pints with the President from 5:30-7 p.m. at Brit’s Pub (located just a few blocks away). Join classmates, friends and current members of the Augustana Choir at this casual, open house-style gathering. Light appetizers will be provided and a cash bar will be available.
At 6 p.m., President Stephanie Herseth Sandlin will provide a brief update on the exciting things happening at Augustana.
